Tapping the Creative Keg for Boulevardia

This summer, beer lovers from all across the country will flock to Kansas City to kick off summer with Boulevardia — The Beer, Food and Music Festival June 13–15 hosted by Boulevard Brewing Company in the West Bottoms District. And while our barkeep prefers bourbon and rye to hoppy ales and smooth stouts, we had no trouble tapping the creative keg for the festival.

Our small but mighty crew provided all of the branding work for Boulevardia — identity, advertising creative, billboards, POP, inserts, invites, merchandise and signage. We also partnered with Propaganda 3 to build the festival’s website and mobile app.

A festival such as this one is all new territory for Boulevard, so we jumped at the chance to put our unique spin on what we know the event can be. We were also excited by the opportunity to create something with an iconic local brand and help them create something that would leverage bits of their existing aesthetic but, ultimately, have a look all its own. They seem to be just as pumped about the look as we are.

“The whole concept of Boulevardia was to create a temporary nation that is a land of plenty — one that’s overflowing with our favorite things,” said Boulevard Director of Marketing Jeremy Ragonese. “That’s why we were so excited to partner with Whiskey Design on the creative elements for the festival. They captured perfectly what we wanted to communicate to Kansas City — beer, food, music and celebrating the revival of this great city we call home.”
