CA, HOW & PRINT
We’re stoked to announce that Whiskey’s been recently recognized by a few pretty impressive publications. To kick it off, we got four projects in the PRINT Design Annual. We’ve been waiting patiently to post this since we got wind of the news a few months back and now that the magazine’s out, here ya go! We’re crazy proud that each of the projects is from a different client — Project BlackBird, Twang, Fresh Air Farm and Austin Walsh Studio. You will each get a pat on the bottom next time we see ya.
We were equally as pumped when we found out that we scored a full spread in this year’s Communication Arts Design Annual. The article showcases our branding work for Fresh Air Farm, an open-air event space in the Missouri countryside. Inspired by the 100-year-old barn on the property, the branding features a barn floating in the clouds to reflect the light, carefree feeling of the events they host. From re-purposed wood signage to cork coasters, the natural personality of the farm shines through. We had a blast working with such a unique company and having the work shown in CA gives us all the more reason to celebrate.
But if that wasn’t exciting enough, we were also among those chosen to have work in the 2013 HOW Self Promotion Design Annual. The magazine included our branding work for Project Blackbird, a motion graphics/direction company here in Kansas City. The team at Project Blackbird is dedicated to creating the perfect motion strategy for their clients’ eyes only, maintaining a secret service persona. When conceptualizing the identity, we wanted to hide certainn information to create an element of secrecy while their work speaks for itself.
With every brand we work with, we strive to create a kinetic visual identity system that not only illustrates the client‘s bold character, but tells a story about its history. We’ve loved watching both of these brands come to life and we’re glad we’re not the only ones. It’s always an honor to be featured so thanks so much for the shout outs guys –we’re in great company!
